Elena Stavrova has a doctorate in finance, money circulation, lending and insurance, awarded by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria. Professor of the Department of Banking and Finance at Neofit Rilski Southwestern University – Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria (2014), gives lectures on Banking, Public Finance, Public Debt Management, Professional Ethics, International Monetary and Financial relations “,” Banking and FINTECH-regulation “. The scientific interests of Associate Professor Elena Stavrova include the state of the banking and quasi-banking sectors, banking security networks, the stability of the banking system, the genesis and results after the financial crisis, and non-technological innovations. Her recent studies are devoted to changes in the banking sector that occurred after the global economy and the financial crisis, the changed functions and reactions of central banks, and the process of digitalization in the economy. She published her research in various journals, previous and electronic sources. She was a guest lecturer at universities in Poland, the Czech Republic, Albania, Moldova, and Greece.
E. Stavrova participated in many international and national scientific forums. As an International Member of Research Groups, she participated in research projects funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Science and Education of Bulgaria, with partners from Greece, Macedonia, Italy, France, Vietnam, China, Uzbekistan, Romania, Moldova and other countries.
Since October 2019, she has been the head of the Department of Finance and Audit of the Neofit Rilski University Department of Economics. She is a member of the Management Board of the Union of Scientists of Economists of Bulgaria (Lion’s Club International).
It is worth noting that from April 13 to May 6 of the current academic year at our university, as part of International Academic Mobility at the professional and creative faculty, Professor Elena Stavrova gives an online lecture to students and faculty of the Department of Artistic Work and Design.
She invited to give lectures in countries such as Poland, Czech Republic, Albania, Greece, Macedonia, Italy, France, Romania, Vietnam. The author of over 100 scientific publications and study guides.
